VBeam

Vbeam-post-pic-AAre you self-conscious about the redness on your face due to Rosacea, broken blood vessels, sun spots or acne scars? Candela’s VBeam Perfecta may be the perfect solution for you!  This Gold-Standard Pulsed Dye Laser uses technology to deliver a powerful, yet gentle burst of light into specific areas of the skin. The blood vessels in those areas then absorb that light, treating the area for discoloration. VBeam Perfecta is safe to use and patients usually notice results almost immediately!  Here at The Dermatology and Skin Care Center of Birmingham, we take great pride in making you feel comfortable during your treatments and confident in your results.

What should I do to prepare for my treatment?

It is best to avoid the sun before and during your treatment sessions to maximize your results.  We recommend using a sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher at all times so that you can have a healthy looking complexion and not damage your skin further making the discoloration worse.

Are there any side effects to treatment?

Some people experience mild swelling and redness right after treatment that subsides after a few hours.

Does VBeam Laser hurt?

No. The sensation that most people use to describe the treatment is a warming and tingling feeling where the pulsed light is being targeted. The Laser also protects the skin’s surface during treatment with its cooling method, which delivers a cooling mist on the targeted skin just before the pulse is released. This method also decreases the chance of redness after treatment.

What should I expect during treatment?

Dr. Harper will want to sit down and discuss with you your specific concerns to determine if VBeam Laser is the best solution for you, and then discuss the number of treatments you will need.  After that consultation, you will be then taken to our room designated for laser treatment where you will be given protective eye gear to wear while the laser is on. One of our trained laser technicians will then explain everything you’ll need to know during and after treatment.  Depending on the size of the area being treated, the procedure could last from 5-20 minutes

It is our goal at The Dermatology and Skin Care Center to provide you with the absolute best experience possible! We value your concerns and aim at working with you as a team to tackle any problems that are holding you back from feeling like you!
